Caligo

Caligo is a speculative typeface inspired by AI-generated human figures—bodies without spines, anatomies that collapse and reassemble, limbs emerging where they should not. It draws from the unsettling logic of machine vision, where the human form is understood through volume and motion rather than anatomy or intention.

The letterforms behave like figures caught mid-transformation. Strokes swell and contort, counters buckle, and terminals appear unexpectedly, creating a sense of movement and instability. Rather than prioritizing static legibility, Caligo embraces distortion and unease, asking how typography might embody the strange, half-familiar bodies produced by AI.
