Macular degeneration is a degenerative eye disease that leads to a loss of central vision over time. Characteristics of MD include blurriness, hazy vision, and black spots appearing that gradually get larger until the person inevitably becomes blind.

Through this visual essay, I wanted to capture that deterioration of vision in a slightly more abstract sense. We start with a world of colour, where every detail is noticed, but soon fall into splotches of black, till faces we once recognized are hard to remember.
